Obituary of Maxine Conn

August 21, 1938 – July 11, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maxine Francis Wilson Conn, who passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at The Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus, at the age of 87.

Maxine was born on August 21, 1938. She graduated from the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing and dedicated her career to caring for others. She worked for many years as a Public Health Nurse before later continuing her calling in elder care, where her compassion, patience, and kindness touched countless lives.

A gifted artist with a creative spirit, Maxine found joy in painting and other artistic pursuits. She also had a lifelong love of cats, who were treasured companions throughout her life.

Maxine was predeceased by her father, Earl; her stepmother, Jean; and her brothers, Allan and Alfred. She leaves behind many cherished family members and dear friends who will remember her warmth, generosity, quiet strength, and caring nature.

Maxine’s family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at The Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus for the compassionate care she received.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Maxine’s life. In her memory, those wishing to do so may consider making a donation to a local animal shelter or cat rescue organization, reflecting her lifelong love of animals.
