Obituary of Ken Laverty

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Wednesday morning, July 15, 2026, Ken passed away at the age of 83.

Loving Husband of Kathy (nee MacDonald) for over 29 years.

Proud and cherished Dad of Christina Laverty (Don Hamel), Shawn Laverty (Helene Cleroux) and Kim Laverty-Blanchette (Victor Blanchette) and Stepdad of Mark Rutenberg (Jenna Yarascavitch) and Vicky Rutenberg.

Special Grandpa of Tyler Perrier (Jessica Hyatt-Perrier), Jordan Laverty (Atalya Giddings-Guindon), Ian Sabourin (Nathalie Chouinard), Mathew Laverty (Carolyne Gardner), Gage Rutenberg, Jaden Stinson and William Rutenberg, and Great Grandpa of Colton Laverty, Caden Sabourin and Colin Sabourin.

Predeceased by his granddaughter Jessica Perrier.

Dear brother of Sally Falsetto (Ortenzio) and Ronald Laverty (Claire).

Predeceased by his siblings Gerald (late Carmen), Margaret Melnick (late Ray), Harold (Ghislaine), Regis, Donald (Claire) and Sharon Liivoja (John), as well as his first wife Dianne Delahunt.

Son of the late Gerald and Celina (nee Larocque).

Ken will be missed by his good friends Richard Ramsay and Nasrene MacDonald, along with all who knew him.

Special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Arnprior Hospital, especially nurse Lucy and Dr. Becker for their excellent care and support.

Ken’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Saturday morning, July 18^th from 10-10:45.

A funeral service will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock.

Private interment at Capital Memorial Gardens will take place at a later date.
