Obituary of Ruth Thomas

(nee Harrington)

Peacefully at Maple View Lodge in Athens on Tuesday evening, July 14,2026.  Ruth passed away at the age of 85.

Described by all who knew her as a beautiful, kind and loving person, always available with an ear and support for whoever needed it.  She was very wise, very stubborn but also entertainingly funny.  Her permanent smile will be missed.

Predeceased by her first husband Leslie Mann (they remained best friends until his death in 2022).  Also predeceased by her second husband Ray Thomas.

Loved mother of Jennifer, Tim (Sue), Mari Ann, Robert (Leslie), and Susan.

She loved having a big family and was cherished and loved by her 13 Grandchildren - Alexandra, Shelby, Sara, Morgan, Kelly, Dailynne,
Brenner, Nick, Kyle, Ella, Noah, Ben and Tom.  She was also the cherished Great Grandma of Kendalyn, Reyna, Gavin, Ellisa, Neveah, Elijah, Julia, Hailey, Mazie, Rinoa, Ferrous, Lily and Titus.

Dear sister of Rosa Montgomery. Predeceased by her brother Robert.

Daughter of the late Charles and Denise (nee Mouck) Harrington.  Ruth's ashes will be interred in her parent's grave and an internment will be held in August at Cherry Valley United Church Cemetery.

Ruth’s private arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.

In memory, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Lanark, a Leeds and Grenville would be greatly appreciated by the family.
