Obituary of Ronald Lorne Whyte

(Retired - Royal Canadian Navy, Boeing Canada)

With heavy hearts the family announces that Ronald passed away at home on Sunday morning, November 5, 2023. He was 90.

Beloved husband of the late Elsie (2019) for over 63 years. Cherished Father of Chris (Gloria) of Toronto and Tracy Reid (David) of Arnprior. Treasured Grandpa of Andrew (Anna), Kelly, Connor, Alan and Lauren.

Ronald was the only son of the late Gordon and Margaret “Peg” (nee Leitch) Whyte.

Ron grew up in Arnprior and at age 18 he joined the Royal Canadian Navy. He was deployed to the Korean War in 1952 on the HMCS
Iroquois. Following the war he went on to serve two additional tours with the Navy.  Ron worked the majority of his career at Boeing Canada Arnprior, where he made many lifelong friends. He was an avid sportsman, hunter and fisherman and spent many happy times at the several hunt camps of which he was a member. Ron was a proud Mason. He enjoyed reliving his many memories through colourful story telling and entertained many people over the years at the bar in his basement. His wife Elsie was by his side for most of his adult life and he missed her terribly following her passing in 2019.

Ronald’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.

Family and friends are invited to a Tribute to honour and remember Ron which will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Sunday morning, May 5th at 11 o’clock.
