Obituary of Gayle van't Slot

With sad yet grateful hearts, the van’t Slot family announces that their matriarch, Gayle passed away peacefully at the Almonte Fairview Manor with loved ones by her side on Saturday morning, November 11, 2023. She was 82.

Gayle was the beloved wife and loving partner of Hank for over 64 years.

Proud and devoted mother of Joanne Nicholas (Chris), Mike van’t Slot (Joanne Cybulski) and Jennifer Nicholson (Gordie). Predeceased by a very dear daughter-in-law, Jodie.

Cherished Granny of 11 grandchildren: Jeff Nicholas (Lindsay), Mike Nicholas (Shannon),Lisa Besner (Ryan), James van’t Slot (Jenna Lapierre), Dan van’t Slot (Alexa Sauvé), Matt van’t Slot (Brittany Farmer), Megan Rampton (Brady), Tyler Nicholson, Erin Nicholson, Adam Cybulski (Amanda) and Josh Cybulski (Lauren)

and 22 great-grandchildren: Isla, Aubrey, Eden, Annabelle, Ariah, Andie, Brody, Chloe, Rose, Will, Harrison, Logan, Jace, Audrey, Owen, Blake, Layla, Melanie, Addison, Finn, Grayson and Bria.

Dear sister of Diana Nicholas. Predeceased by her only brother, Stan Day (late Gale) and sister, Sylvia Waghorn (late Art).

Daughter of the late Lindsay R. and Irene (nee Gervan) Day.

 

Special thanks to PSW Connie for the wonderful assistance she provided Mom while she was still at home and heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at

Fairview Manor for the kindness and excellent care they provided over the past few years.  

 

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.

 

A private family gathering to celebrate Gayle will be held.
