Obituary of Amy Cassidy

Proud Veteran WWII

With sadness, yet grateful for a full and well lived life, the family announces that Amy passed away peacefully at Promenade Residence in Orléans on Monday, April 1, 2024; Amy Hilda May Cassidy, formerly of Arnprior was in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Michael Cassidy (2004) and of the late Joseph “Joe” Bresson (1956). Dearly loved mother of Bonnie Lafleur (Jean), Cheryl Pearson (Hugh) and Sean Cassidy (Melinda). Predeceased by a son, Glen Bresson (Diane). Much loved and proud “Grandma Amy” of 9 grandchildren: Mathieu Lafleur (Natasha), Nicholas Lafleur (Mariana), Meagan Pearson, Hailey Cassidy (Duncan Honsinger), Courtney Barrett (Adam), Taylor Cassidy (Ellis Davies), Angela Bresson, Jennifer Bresson (Garth Yach) and Joe Bresson as well as 8 great-grandchildren: Gabrielle, Annika, Jack, Kyle, Alica, Ethan, Kristin and Jacob. Daughter of the late William and Amy (nee Drake) Poynter. Amy was also predeceased by her brother, Charles Poynter (late Ethel) and her sister, Hilda Hall (late Harry). Also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. A gentle woman who truly loved and enjoyed life has gone to rest leaving a legacy of kindness. Her final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where friends may pay their respects on Tuesday morning, April 9th from 9:30 to 10:45. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. Reception to follow at Pilon’s.
