sorry to read about Jerry..as nearly 25 years here and Past Pres.of Seniors Club Fitzroy had occasions to meet Jerry and Elsie at meetings, these days 73 is a young age to pass away (I don't mind admitting I'm 83)..some of the family too are in this wonderful community-minded folks and he will be missed from near and far. God bless the family as they go through this time..(my own husband Doug two years ago passed) but as everybody's plumber-helper his honest trustful way resonates with me always and the Ovington family will feel the same blessings. Sincerely, Norma Dixon (Williamson St.)

As Jerry's neice, I have a many family memories with him including my cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I can remember several visits to Grandma and Grandpa Muldoon's house in Fitzroy Harbour, a favourite Muldoon family meeting place, where we would all catch up together. I will always remember Jerry's soft, kind eyes that seemed to hold a multitude of stories and secrets. A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of hearing about some of his war stories which were not only fascinating but gave me such great respect and pride for him as a soldier and as my Uncle. Jerry was also known for his nick names and mine was Juniper which I'll never forget and will always reflect on with great fondness. Although I'm an ocean away, my heart and sadness is joined to each of my family members that have been touched by this loss. I pray for God's grace, peace and protection over each one of you during this difficult time. That said, I pray that each of you keep your eyes on Him as he will continue to guide and lead you through this valley to the other side.
Love,
Your neice, cousin, daughter and friend Jennifer

I am so very sorry for the loss of this dear and wonderful man. He was a very good hockey-playing friend of all my older brothers - and in terms of favourites of their friends - he was mine! He was so very kind to me as a little girl and always smiling. I truly sympathize with the members of his family as you acknowledge this most significant loss in your lives. At the same time, may you always remember the many blessings he brought to you and all who knew him. Sincerely, Judy.

As I read the obituary, I glanced toward two cartoons of myself on the wall . They are caricatures of myself as regional ATC manager, Ontario created by Jerry and making fun of me and ATC management in a very humorous way. I love them! I have had the honour of gazing at them for over twenty years; they always make me laugh.

Jerry was a wonderful, warm, friendly person - it was an honor to know him, and always a pleasure to be in his company. His presence will enrich the "other side" where his smile and infectious humor are certain to be as appreciated as they were on this side of the great divide - we home to reunite with him again in the future.

Jerry was such a great man. We were neighbours for years and I remember seeing him out with the little white dog. However I didn't get to know him better until about eight years ago. He helped so many people and I will miss his "Hi Doll!" greeting. He's left a big hole. Mary

We are truly sorry that Jerry has left us. He was a real gentleman whose friendship we cherished going back to our times together on 440 (AWF) Squadron in Zweibruecken, Germany in the late 1950s. Jerry warmed up the room by his very presence, and he always smiled! We shall miss him.
