Bob,Jomie, Jeff and girls, I was so sorry to hear of Marilyn's passing and will miss her. It's a terrible disease! I remember all your trips to Fredericton and how much everyone enjoyed your visits. Even though dad (Gerald) didn't say much I know he loved seeing his sister. And like Peter's daughter said - 'our family is getting small' & we should tell each other more often that they are in our thoughts. My thoughts and love are with all of you. Greta (Marilyn's niece)

I only got to know Marilyn more recently as part of her bridge group. But it didn't take long to realize what a special lady she was and the warmth she generated in making me feel very quickly a part of that group. Sometime when people touch your lives, even if only briefly they make an impact and Marilyn did make an impact on mine. To her family please accept my heartfelt sympathy at this time.

Bob, Jomie, Jeff, Trish, Ellen and families: My thoughts are with you as you deal with your loss. Marilyn was a wonderful aunt and I, and certainly mom and GiGi, will miss her dearly. I am so glad that we were able to get them up to Ontario to help celebrate her memory today. My 12-year old said something the other day that struck me, because in our normal, adult "busy daily life" we often don't slow down to think of things so basic -- while Marilyn was struggling in her last days, she said "Dad, when Marilyn, nanny and GiGi are gone, you won't have anyone left but us and your sisters". A simple perspective that made me realize all the more why we need to cherish our families! I will always have fond memories of Jomie and Jeff coming east when we were all younger, and our trip to Deep River to visit the family and Frosty the dog! And more recently of Bob and Marilyn's trips down home - we always had at least one visit. Take care and don't hesitate to drop me a line if ever you are down east -- it would be wonderful to visit again.

Marilyn was somewhat of a mentor to me while she served as President of the Hospital Auxiliary Board. For personal reasons I could never make the meetings and Marilyn was always extremely understanding. She helped me in many situations and was a kind and gentle listener and very patient. She always tried to be fair and see all aspects of a situation. I greatly admired her quiet strength and sense of humour. She was a remarkable woman and I knew her only briefly but she made a difference in my life. I know she will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Jane Dowd
