Today is the 44th week since you went to your eternal reward, beloved Michael. June 9th would be our 11th wedding anniversary. Then your birthday on June 12th. Thank you for watching over us from Heaven. You always were a perfect gentleman, dressed up for Mass, always removed your hat inside, opened doors for me, never swore or used bad language, you were pure in mind, heart and body, very reverent and served many Masses. May others imitate your virtues. Alleluia!

This is a tribute to my Beloved Husband, Michael. In his lifetime, he gave over 133 blood donations, which have helped 403 people, according to Canadian Blood Services, with whom I spoke this month (August 2011). Thank you, Beloved Michael!

My deepest sympathy for the the loss of a son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Mike was one of my good friends while at the Coast Guard College, but like many friendships made there it faded with our dispersal at graduation I do have many fond memories of Mike. Among those most notable was his almost never absent smile, his habit of cutting his own hair and the placing of dessert on top of an already overflowing plate of questionable quality food. We determined that he either had no taste buds or truly had an iron stomach. He will be missed by me and other of his college classmates.

It is with great sorrow that I heard today of the passing of Micheal. I pray the Lord's blessings and comfort for all of you. I know that you grieve your loss at this time, and words from long distant friends cannot ease the pain, but the Lord Jesus, who Mike knew can, and will. Mike and I became friends at the Coast Guard College, and he stood with me as one of my groomsmen when I got married. Mike also be came a friend of my wife and visited with us after we had graduated and were posted to the Coast Guard fleet. Though Mike and I believed different theologies, he a Catholic, and I a Presbyterian, we both trusted in Jesus as our Lord, Saviour, Friend, and keeper. Again, my prayer for your whole family. Mike was a classmate in our graduating year of 1975 from the Canadian Coast Guard College. He was one of the most positive thinking people I have come to know. I last talked with him here in Ottawa before I took my retirement, so that would be prior to 2008.
