If you look up the word kindness in the dictionary, Iris' picture ought to be there. She is one of the kindest and loveliest human beings I have ever come across in my life. I am so thankful that I had the privilege of knowing her. Every memory I have of her (and I have a lot of them) is a happy one. She made my day brighter just by walking into a room. I was always so happy to see her.
As substitute mother figures for a bereaved little girl, I couldn't have asked for better. She was one of those for me. She knew it, and she had an influence on me and encouraged me at every opportunity. I will never forget and I have no doubt where she is right now.
I'm so sorry for the loss of such a beautiful soul, but I am oh so glad that she was here. It's no exaggeration to say she was a living gem. That is how I saw her.
