Victoria, Kate, Eric – I met your father at the Bank of Canada in the 1970s, and he has been a source of inspiration and a model to emulate as I assumed positions of increased responsibility at the Bank. My fondest memory of George is how, as Deputy Governor, he could really engage junior staff when he dropped in your office to discuss a problem he was dealing with or to sound some idea with you. He had a keen, leading edge understanding of monetary economics, and a contagious passion for the work of the Bank. Please accept my sincere condolences. Pierre Duguay, Deputy Governor 2000-2010.

Victoria, Katie and Eric - Some of my most vivid and wonderful childhood memories are based in your family home on Echo Drive - while we played, I recall the "adult laughter" coming from your living room. Your Mom and Dad were gracious hosts and always made us feel so welcome...I never felt like a little kid in their presence as they were truly sincere in their interest of our lives.
That makes a real difference...

Dear Victoria, Kate and Eric,
We are thinking so much about you and about George and June. We have so many wonderful shared memories, especially of times at Lake Land Lodge. We loved Uncle George and Auntie June. Your whole family was very special to us in those early years. Mom and Dad so enjoyed their times with your parents long after all of us had grown up - they were very special friends. We are all looking forward to celebrating their lives with you next Sunday.

Our cousins, June and George had a wonderful life together.....fulfilling, generous, caring.
For a while, in the 1940's, our families lived together on Echo Drive, in Ottawa and June was like an older sister to Ross . It was a turbulent time during the second world war. Little did we know that when we were practising drills for bombing raids, George was doing his part in bringing the war to a conclusion.
In later years, we enjoyed their company at family events. Always good meals, witty conversation and warm feelings.
Their lives were well lived.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Kate, and all of your family. Your mom and dad were very special people. I am glad to have met them and shared their love story with our readers in the Angel In Grey magazine. It was this time last year, together, we shared George and June's testimonial which was used in our annual campaign. Memories are so very special! Keep them close as they will be a comfort in the days and years to come.

George and June were dear friends and great neighbors. We missed them when they moved from the farm. They were almost inseparable in life and to have died so close in time is an ending that seems almost romantic. Our deepest sympathies. Dave and Cathy Cunningham.
