Obituary of Mary Munro

March 3, 1934 – October 2, 2019

 

With great sadness we announce the passing of our family’s matriarch, Mary Audrey Munro of Blackburn Hamlet who passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by love and prayers on Wednesday morning, October 2, 2019. Mom was 85. She is survived by her beloved husband, best friend and life partner, Garnet. Much loved and proud mother of Sheila Brown (Arden) of Carlsbad Springs; Gloria Mitzelos (George) of Kemptville; Scott Munro (Heather) of Ottawa and Robert Munro (Allison) of Navan. Cherished and forever loved by her grandchildren: Kosta, Lindsay, Jevin, Victoria, Morgan and Cole as well as her great-grandchildren: Raegan, Violet and Sofia. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and so many great friends from both near and far who will always remember Mary’s warm heart and kindness toward others.  The last surviving child of the late Archibald and Bertha (nee McEachern) Edwards of Navan, Mom was also predeceased by her siblings: Muriel Holford (late Norman), Maysie Rivington (late Garrett), Stan Edwards (friend of Lois Thomas of Cumberland) (late Hilda), and Gail Young (late Bob). Mary’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A Celebration of Mary’s life took place at St. Mary’s Parish Hall, Navan on Saturday afternoon, October 26th from 12 p.m.  to 3 p.m. Private interment St. Mary The Virgin Cemetery, Blackburn.
