Obituary of Mary Vose Smith

SMITH, Mary Vose (Nee Thomson) Peacefully in hospital at Ottawa on Friday morning, April 28th, 2006 in her 86th year. Predeceased by her husband, John Oliver(1997). Loved and caring mother of Jo-Anne Cavanagh (Gary) of Ottawa, George (Merrily Corder) of Gibsons, B.C., Eric (Kelly) of Sudbury and Rodney (Vila) of Sault Ste. Marie. Cherished �Grammo� of Erin (husband Mike Hamilton), Richard and Patrick and �Nanny� of Jenna. Mary Vose, a long time resident and tireless worker for her community of Braeside, generously gave much of her time to her beloved Braeside United Church and to the Arnprior Hospital Auxilliary. She was a proud co-founder of the Opportunity Shop in Arnprior. Mary Vose was always optimistic and a fervent supporter of friends and family. Her sense of humour and joyful spirit will be missed at the Granite Ridge Nursing Home. Special thanks to the staff at Orchard House. Thanks as well to Dr. Whetter and the staff at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital who helped make her final days comfortable. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday. A Service in Celebration of the life of Mary Vose Smith will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Tuesday morning, May 2nd at 11 o�clock. Rev. David Bauman officiating. A Reception will follow.
