Obituary of G. Stewart Blake
BLAKE, G. Stewart
(Major - Retired)
(December 17, 1912 - October 16, 2006)
Passed away in Arnprior Hospital at age 93 in the presence of his son and daughter-in-law following a brief illness. Active until a few weeks before his illness, Stu was well known to yardsalers, flea marketers, auctioneers and shufflers. He served with distinction in WW II and Korea. He was a recipient of the British Empire. Afterwards, he worked at the Canadian Automobile Association until his first retirement. His second retirement as a fleamarketer occurred at the age of 92 years. He dearly missed his beloved wife Sue whom he cared for for many years during her illness. He will never be forgotten by his son, David; daughter-in-law June; grandson Morgan and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members. Our thanks to family members for their support; to the staff of the Arnprior Hospital and in particular to the compassionate Dr. Susanna McCarthy.
