Greg, we didn't know your father but I hope it's some help to you that we share in some way your sense of loss, and are thinking of you and your family. You spoke to me a few times about Ed in the last couple of weeks. I didn't know he worked for Nortel, but I guess he must have been an inspiration to you in many ways, and I'm sure he also left behind many dear friends and colleagues. You're now a part of the Genova team and your friends here want you to know that you can count on us for anything you may need.

As a coworker of Ed's for the past few years it was my pleasure to have worked with him, but even more so, it was my pleasure to have known him. My thoughts are with his family at this time.

Mike Baker posted a condolence

Hi, It is with great sadness that I heard of Ed's passing. I had the privilege and pleasure to work with Ed, on and off, for the last six years. Ed was respected by all for his knowledge and insight. He was generous with that expertise, quick to assist when asked. Ed always dealt with openness, honesty and great integrity. He respected others, listened carefully, gave due respect to the opinions of others even when they conflicted with his own views, and made willing allowance for the possibility of his own error. An opportunity to work with Ed was always welcome. He and I shared many sessions together, trying to figure out a solution or plan to a problem. He brought imagination, wit, and a positive approach that made these sessions both very productive and enjoyable. Ed was one of the few best. His passing makes the world smaller but his personal influence will endure. With respect, Mike Baker.

We are very shocked and sad to learn about Ed's passing. Ed had done a lot to help us to set up our projects in Beijing, and it is him who helped us to overcome numerous road blockers along the way. We still remember clearly the day and night we spent on conference calls with him solving some of the critical problems. It's our honor to work with him during the past, every single little help means a lot to us, his knowledge, discipline and advice were highly appreciated. A simple "thank you" couldn't cover our feelings
