Obituary of Jack Nicholls
With heavy hearts, the family announces that Jack passed away peacefully at The Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior on Friday afternoon, September 2, 2022; Jack Nicholls of Arnprior, a former longtime resident of West Carleton was 90. Beloved husband of the late Theresa “Teri” (nee Coulas). Much loved Dad of Diane Lalonde (Doug Stroud) of Merrickville; Wayne Nicholls (Gail) of Arnprior and Linda Faulkner (late Larry Lemay) of Smiths Falls. Predeceased by a son, Stephen (Debbie Johnston of Braeside). Cherished and loving Grampa of 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack was the last surviving child of the late Cyril and Evelyn (nee Shea) Nicholls. He was also predeceased by 3 brothers: Bob (late Nelda), Basil (Mary of Arnprior) and Cyril (late Beryl) as well as 3 sisters: Dulcie Nicholls, Carm Nicholls and Patricia Nickol (late Max). Jack was a “Jack of all trades” and an icon in The Ottawa Valley. He was the former owner of Nicholls Stores in Stittsville, South March and Woodlawn. He later went on to a career in real estate working with Gale then ReMax. Retirement brought he and Teri to Arnprior. A friend to all, Jack will be missed by many. His final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 10 to 10:45. A Service to honour and remember Jack will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow. Interment St. Isidore’s Cemetery, South March.
