Obituary of Bill Baker

BAKER, William Joseph "Bill" (Retired Pfizer Arnprior) It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Baker who reluctantly succumbed to cancer while at the Arnprior Hospital on Friday evening, February 17th, 2012 following a brief but courageous struggle. In his final hours, Bill was surrounded by the unwaivering love and precious support of friends and family. He was 67 years of age. Survived by his beloved wife, Sherry (nee Hill), Bill also leaves his children: Scott Baker (and his wife Andrée and their son, William) and Alyssa Moore (and her husband Jamie and their children: Robert, Alex and Avery) all of Arnprior as well as his step-daughter, April Sybiraj (and her husband Alan) of Ottawa. Bill was predeceased by his first wife Barbara (nee Fraser) in 1991. Loved brother of Joan Wood (late David) of Arnprior and Margaret Christy (Dick) of Elgin. Brother-in-law of Morgan Hill (Lynn) of Picton and Brent Hill (Jeannette) of Brockville. Dear son of the late Bill Baker and the late Jean Gilmour. A special uncle; a loyal friend and a lover of life, Bill will be long remembered for his kindness, integrity and gentle spirit. Family and friends are invited to the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior for visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. A Celebration of the life of Bill Baker will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Tuesday morning, February 21st at 11 o'clock. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery. A reception will follow at the St. John Chrysostom Parish Hall on Albert Street in Arnprior. In memory of Bill, a donation to the Arnprior Hospital "Palliative Care Unit" would be appreciated by his family.
