Dear Joan: I won't be there this weekend-we talked, you know how I feel about funerals. So on Saturday when they lay you to rest in the ground I'll sit in the sun and toast your life with the biggest, toasted, tomato sandwich I can make....the best way I know to say goodbye. Love Donna your baby Sis

Dear Kenny and family: We would like to express our heart-felt condolences at the passing of Joan. She was a remarkable woman who, even in such grave health, took the time to come to our parents funeral to support us. I found this poem a friend sent to me and I hope it brings you comfort: " When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, not for long, and not with your head bowed low, remember the love that once we shared, miss me but let me go. When you are lonely and sick at heart, go the friends we know, laugh at all the things we used to do miss me but let me go." Our prayers are with you. Love: Darlene, David, Alex, Allan, Jeanette and Jennifer.

My Condolences to Joan's family. Very sad to hear of her passing. I lived in the same building with Joan for 4 years. Sweetest woman ever. My son absolutely LOVED her, as did I. When my grandfather was in the hospital a couple of months ago, I happened to look into the room across the hall from him and noticed Joan.. I didn't even know she was in the hospital. My son and I got to visit with her on more than one occasion while she was in there. Was nice to see her smile, even though I know she was suffering. I tried to visit her every time I was in with my grampa, which was at least once a day. Even if it was only for a few minutes because I knew she was tired. Regardless, she always welcomed me and was grateful for the company, as was I. My son got a big hug and kiss and a pudding, every time he went in to see her :) I swear she saved the puddings just for him :) I'm going to miss Joan a lot, but she isn't suffering anymore, and she is with her saviour now. Rest in Peace Joan. Love Kim and Jacob. xoxo
