Danny.....You were a great brother-in-law and my Fishin buddy. From the late '70s to the early '90s together we explored many of the fishing spots in the Ottawa Valley. Remember us standing in the waters of Rivière Blanche north of Buckingham Quebec fishing for speckles ( we got a couple over a few years!,). Then we got a car top boat and terrorized the Ottawa river for pickerel (none), the Rideau lakes and White lake and Mississippi lake for bass (a few). Remember going north of Shawville for lakers and the rain pounding on tin roof of our cabin. We had several years of success at Squaw lake and soon we had friends and relatives ( the Mears cousins) joining us. Then started the annual spring fishing weekends with cousins and friends. Remember the excitement of everyone catching pickerel for several years at Hay bay in Lake Ontario near Belleville. Remember 1 night you were so frustrated with my friends snoring that you threw your shoe at him.
Then the Robertsons moved back to Sudbury and your gang moved to Arnprior and our fishing trips moved to northern Ontario when you were up at the cottage on Agnew. Remember the great salmon excursions with Birdman you and I to Providence Bay and Meldrum Bay on Manitoulin Island. Most of all I remember our trip afew hours north of Sudbury to Ramsey Lake in June 2011. Remember the the awe and wonder of boating and fishing on a new lake and you, I and Kerry giggling like school boys in the tent the first night. And, boy did we catch fish.
Danny that last trip will be the most memorable of all the great times we had..
Thanks Fishin buddy for all the companionship over the years. Those memories will be with me forever.

Danny, Ron Legault and I ruled the ski slopes back in high school. (at least in our imaginations) Danny will always remind me of great times spent on old Mount Baldy. I had the privilege of seeing him again at the Lively reunion a couple years ago. He was such an easy going friend and I will miss him so much.

If Grandma passed down any artistic skills I don't think his siblings would argue that they all went to Dan! My brother and I always had the coolest bedroom when we were young room b/c Dan had painted a mural of a few Sesame Street characters on a full wall - I guess better that we moved out of that room before high school though!

Spent many childhood summers at Lake Naraka with Dan and many fishing trips on the lake. The best one was when he thought he had the biggest fish in the lake on his line finding out he had a turtle on his line....

Dan was a shy but fun-loving guy. One of my favourite memories is of him singing Oh Danny Boy at my karaoke party, probably in 2003 or 2004. It was late in the evening and he finally got up the courage. It was a wonderful rendition!

As an "old" high school pal, Danny Hickey was one of the sweetest guys I knew - quick to tease and joke, always with a smile. We had great memories that include playing badminton, tennis, swimming, biking, working at Toffoli's store and of course hanging out with the "gang".
