In memory of Scotty, Friendship, in its truest form, is being there when times are the toughest without hesitation or second thought. Scott got me through one of the darkest periods of my life with his unconditional friendship and support. The times we all spent together Scotty ,Bill, Paul Jeff Mike, and I are indelibly etched in my fondest memories. Scotty always made sure I was included and was the first to step forward to remove any barriers that stood in our way. Growing up with Scotty and this group I took it as the norm, only through the passage of time and life events did I recognize how exceptional Scotty was in his incredible zest for life combined with great compassion for others. I felt helpless, deeply saddened and profoundly frustrated by Scott’s sudden illness and I felt such intense emotions, the situation for his parents, Ron and Helen is unimaginable. Know only we are here for you as much as we can as you deal with this terrible loss. But above all Scotty would not want us to be sad, just cherish each other and the time we have together, With the memory of his glowing smile and incredible laugh, ringing in our ears. Rest in peace Bro,

When I first met Ron and his circle of friends, that included Paul P., Mike, Paul S, Greg and Scotty, the gatherings were plenty and the laugher was nonstop of which most was due to Scotty and his ‘style’ of humour. The stories and memories will live on forever. I truly believe there is no greater loss than that of one’s child. Keep his memories close. Our prayers and thoughts are with Scotty’s family and friends. “Stand by Me”, the song Scotty sang during his last performance says it all.

I am so sad to hear of Scott's passing. We went to school together from kindergarten up. I was a fat little kid and Scott always stood up for me. No one knows this except my son. My sons name is Scott and I told him that he was named after the kindest person I knew growing up. Thank you Scott.

I house sat at the Gillies Residence for a couple of seasons where I met Scott. The day a bat was discovered in my bedroom, I called Scott over to help. Wearing gloves and using a plastic bag, Scott captured the bat and removed the creature to outside.
I am grateful to Scott for the days he took me to town to grocery shop. Our return home treat was a stop at Tim Horton's drive-thru.
Scott fondly spoke of his sister, his family and friends. He enjoyed playing hockey on the lake ice, motorcycle rides and to be with his friends and their children.
He has gone ahead and I will remember Scott for his kindness.
