Dear Bev: Beate and I send you and all the immediate family our utmost condolences on the death of Barr. Since childhood, Barr was certainly one of my favourite cousins (and we had a lot). His genuine warmth, great sense of humour, ready smile and quickness with a joke endeared him to all those who knew him. He didn't suffer fools gladly, but he recognized good people and was the finest of friends to them. He will be greatly missed by all and it's a shame he had to go so early. You have both borne a great burden for a very long time however, and now you can both get some rest. Barr is now in God's hands and I'm sure He will be watching over his angel of mercy as well. You did a great job and I know Barr appreciated it so very much. We will see you on Saturday - and I do want that shot of Scotch with Barr.
