Obituary of Rena Sykes

SYKES, Rena (Nana) At home on Christmas day, 2004 surrounded by family at the age of 101 years. Her passing brings both sadness and comfort. Hers was a life lived to the fullest; her humour, sharp whit and loving kindness form a wonderful memory and legacy. The family is grateful that they had one last Christmas with four generations of mothers and daughters together. Nana is survived by her daughter, Joan Williams; granddaughter Summer Williams and her partner Daniel Zimmerman; grandson Mark Williams and his partner Lorie Morton; greatgrandchildren: Cherokee MacLeod and her husband, Andrew MacLeod, Jesse Williams and Shelby Williams. The family is grateful for the support offered by those who assisted in her last months and days. In particular, we would like to thank Dr. Suzanna McCarthy. Our thanks also to the wonderful Paramed staff with special mention to Mary Jo Kelly and Verna Humphries. The family wish to express their extreme gratitude to the nurses: Sharon, Gail, Jennifer and many others who helped make her last days as comfortable as possible.
