Deepest heartfelt sympathy to you Pauline and Abby. I have so many good memories and stories of our lessons, recitals and performances of Joel, Kelly and Michele as part of the 'older' Canadian Steppers and our group of Sue, Gabrielle and myself. It was an honour to work with you and Buster!

Was so saddened to learn of Buster's passing. We had the privilege of hosting Buster and his troupe of young performers on the big stage at Almonte Celtfest a few years back. It was a total honour to work with him, and I recall his broad smile off-stage as the children flawlessly danced their tunes out with energy and style. I felt I was in the presence of a true master legend, and am grateful, very much to have known him. On behalf of the Almonte Celtfest Committee, we offer our warmest thoughts to Buster's family and those close to him. many thanks, Jim

I my self took step dancing from Buster in his younger years in Eganville, and for the past 6 months my daughter was going to his classes in Pembroke. I have video's of him teacher the kids. He always had a smile on his face when dealing with them. My daughter loved going to stepdancing and in the weeks leading up to his leave from stepdancing starting in April 2014, she was very upset that she would not see him again. I had to break the news to her today when I found out and the heart break and tears that she has, shows that he touched all children who were taught by him. May you rest in peace but the spirit of step dancing live on throuh memories.
To the family, please accept our condolances.

The Ottawa Valley has lost a legend to-day. Buster Brown a well known and most talented dancing teacher who was loved and respected by his students has left us. Buster worked diligently at keeping the art of step dancing alive in the Ottawa Valley. His technique and precision of step could not be surpassed. He was passionate about his work and all who enjoyed his teaching admired him. His famous words during our lessons were, precision and style. Busters dancing was so smooth and precise that you could close your eyes and simply enjoy the rhythm of his feet as he stepped with ease and flair. He will be missed but his legacy and his achievements in the world of step dancing will live on in those he taught so well. Enjoy your rest Buster. You've earned it. Friends and students, Lucie Walsh/Teeter and son Daniel Walsh

A Very Sad Time In The Ottawa Valley. A Gifted Young Man Taken From Us Way To Soon. I Saw Him Dance Many Times In Person And It Was A Joy To See. He Will Indeed Be Missed By All Who Knew And Loved Him. "Those we love must someday pass beyond our present sight...must leave us and the world we know without their radiant light. But we know, that like a candle their lovely light will surely shine to brighten up another place more perfect...more divine. And in the realm of Heaven where they shine so warm and bright our beloved ones live forevermore in God's eternal light."

Deepest sympathy to the Brown family on their great loss. My daughter and I had the opportunity of taking lessons from him in the church basement on Merivale Rd. for 5 years and he was a great teacher. Always wondered when I pass there if he was still doing the clogs, jigs and reels. He will be missed by many. Will do a shuffle, shuffle, step in his memory. Rest in peace, Buster.

Buster was a great influence when were were growing up. Everyone wanted to dance like Buster Brown and many of us had the priviledge of taking lessons from him. When my kids were old enough, we headed to lessons with Buster in the basement of a couple of homes in the area. Karyn had 13 years of lessons, Kelsie a little less and Kris a little less again. The competitions, the costumes, the variety shows, the shoes and the plywood board that travelled around when the kids performed. And yes, people knew who their teacher was by the style of dance. And Buster never forgot them so many years later. Always asking for them. Always a nice word to say.
Buster made a difference in so many lives, continued a tradition that was so important to the Ottawa Valley, taught children and adults so many skills assoicated with dancing, memory, working together and above all having fun doing it. When he took the floor to show the students how it was done, his feet just flew so effortlessly it was pure magic to watch. He made a difference and he will be remembered for all he accomplished. RIP Buster - I am sure there is an old car just waiting to be tuned up....

When Buster was 12 years old, he started to teach, in order to help his Mother and family. Busters father passed away at this time. I am so proud to say I was one of the first students of his. Buster was 12 years old and I was 8 yrs. Buster was also very supportive of my career, getting me guest appearances through out the Valley and into competitions. The biggest thrill of all was the compliments I received regularly, " not hard to see who taught you" always tried to mirror the greatest step dancer in my eyes then and to this sad day, my mentor and very good friend..... Buster Brown.

At a loss on what to say. Buster you are well known in the Ottawa Valley. When I first moved here I was blessed to see Joseph, Layla and Eddie preform. Watched Eddie preform Step and Violin for the first time together. Was excited to watch my daughter take lessons. Even though she did not continue with the 1st year. Blessed when my youngest Wyatt took it up this season His 1st year and in a 2nd year class. You made him feel fantastic telling him he was doing great and catching up with the rest. He Truly enjoyed every lesson we had and loved chatting with you after. You have blessed this family and this Valley with your talent and love for the talent and the children you have taught. May your family heal by knowing your memory will live on with every step that is danced from here on in. God Bless you and your family may you forever Dance Sherry, Duane , Amber, April, Wesley and Wyatt WHITE
