I have had the privilege of having Frank as a friend for a number of years. He taught me so much in life that I use daily, true humility, keeping things simple, being grateful for all my blessings. He had the most wonderful sense of humor, I will miss his slightly demented jokes that he told so quietly and with a straight face. Frank, you were an amazing person in my life, I love you, and I know your essence and spirit are now free to wander the universe. Thank you for being my friend.

Uncle Fritz was an amazing man. The last of that generation of the Lamorie clan. He would build all sorts of things from snow planes to repairing tube TV's or fixing up old canoes. The words "can't be done" never crossed his lips. He was a true optimist. Someone to look up to, to aspire to be like. He was my Mother's loving "Brudder" as he signed her cards. His sense of humour and the stories he'd tell made you want to spend time with him. By the way, these were real stories, the stories of the life he lived growing up. So interesting and usually very amusing. The story of the "hockey boots" comes to mind. Way back when he was young his Dad, my grandfather Isadore, bought him new 'Boots" ,they were essentially hockey skates with a removable blade so they doubled as a boot. He told us how much he disliked them because they were so stiff and uncomfortable. He would wear them and drag his feet. In no time he had the soles worn out . He reported to his dad they were done, worn out . I'm sure Grandpa Lamorie gave him a suspicious look but ,he did get new boots. I'll miss his stories, his hugs. I'm sure he'll be sitting with Aunt Agnes enjoying a bowl of her beef barley soup and a cup of tea with bread and some Lyle's golden syrup spread on it.
Goodbye Uncle Fritz, always proud to say, "that's my Uncle"
say hello to the rest of the family for us, Mary Lou, Stephen Brodie and Graham

Francis always amazed me, rain or shine, ill or well, he was a comforting man with a big heart, amazed me a few times as I was playing one of the old-time recently tuned pianos here in the villa...what did he do? he suddenly came out with (his room was near this piano) his mouth organ just keeping in tune with Norma (me)...and he always waved at my table 5 as he passed by to his own group. and I discussed with him my own hubby doug dixon's time during world war II aboard the HMCS Uganda, able seaman, age 18...I didn't know Doug at that time of course, but that was the only ship that was in the Pacific fleet accompanying both British and American fleets(thus later he rec'd the Pacific Star)..sailing 80,000 miles about that uganda...during that ww.11, we shared stories, we shared music, we shared family first ideas...being here at this warm-hearted 'senios' spot now, somne like francis surely added to its spirit.
loving remembered now too by Norma Dixon (129) at the villa (normadixo@hotmail.ca)

Had the pleasure of meeting Fritz at his hunting camp approx. 10 yrs ago. Spending time with him and his friends each fall was a pleasure. You could not meet a more honest and sincere gentleman. Our country has lost another war hero.
