Eric was a perennial greeter at the old Wesleyan Church in Arnprior. Whenever I arrived from Ottawa, after the service began, he always had a big smile and a handshake to welcome me. It put me at ease and I didn't feel badly about being late.
There were several lawn parties at the Eric and Anita's in the summer. it was such a comfortable place to be. Kids running around having fun, people talking and laughing. Eric at the barbecue happy to feed us all.
I miss Eric's smile. And I have all these pleasant memories.
I'm glad I knew him, even if just a little.

Anita and family, I am so very sorry to hear the news of Eric's passing. I was just back from New Jersey when I heard about it. I'm sorry I couldn't give my condolences in person, but I want you to know that I will remember him fondly as a great neighbor and friend. His wonderful laughter and warm smile is something I will always think of when I think of him. We are so sorry to have to say good bye to Eric. It's hard to believe that just last summer he and your family won the Amazing Race - 1st place!!! It was so much fun to hear his stories. We'll miss him but we know that we will see him again in Heaven. Paul said in Phillipians 1:21 - For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Eric has gained eternity and blessings of health and joy thanks be to our Lord and Saviour Jesus.
