Obituary of Jean Desjardins

DESJARDINS, Jean (Retired Government of Canada) Suddenly yet peacefully at Residence Montfort, Ottawa on Monday afternoon, July 7th, 2014; Jean Simon Desjardins passed away at the age of 88 years.. Beloved husband and best friend of Berthe (nee Ouimet). Honoured and devoted father of François and his wife, Jeanne Bougie of Alexandria, Ontario. Predeceased by a son, Paul (April 26, 2002). Proud grandfather of Christian Desjardins (Sarah Geerts) and Marie-Eve Desjardins (Adam Graham) and great grandfather of Lena. Lovingly remembered by Paul's wife, Christine Murphy of Pickering. Jean was the last surviving child of the late Wilfrid and Josephine Desjardins (formerly of West Hawkesbury). He was also predeceased by 3 brothers: Ernest, Lionel and Arsidas Desjardins as well as two sisters, Albertine Davidson and Blanche Giroux. Friends are invited to share their memories of Jean with his family during a visitation at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 435 Montreal Road, Ottawa (Vanier) on Tuesday, July 15th from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Church at 10:30. A reception will follow. In memory of Jean, a donation to the Parkinson's Society would be greatly appreciated by his family. Il était le mari bien-aimé et le meilleur ami de Berthe (née Ouimet). Père honoré et dévoué de François et son épouse, Jeanne Bougie d'Alexandria, Ontario. Prédécédé par un fils, Paul (le 26 Avril 2002). Fier grand-père de Christian Desjardins (Sarah Geerts) et Marie-Eve Desjardins (Adam Graham) et arrière grand-père de Lena. Il est également regretté par l'épouse de Paul, Christine Murphy de Pickering. Jean était la dernier des enfants de feu Wilfrid et Joséphine Desjardins (anciennement de Hawkesbury Ouest). Egalement prédécédé par trois frères: Ernest, Lionel et Arsidas Desjardins ainsi que deux soeurs, Albertine Davidson et Blanche Giroux. Les amis sont invités à partager leurs souvenirs de Jean avec sa famille au cours d'une visite à l'Eglise Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, 435, chemin Montréal, Ottawa (Vanier) le mardi 15 juillet de 930-à-10:20. La Messe Funéraire sera célébrée à 10h30. Une réception suivra. En mémoire de Jean, un don à la Société Parkinson serait grandement apprécié par la famille. Les arrangements funéraires sont confiés à son neveu, André Pilon de la Maison Funéraire Pilon Ltée, 50 rue John Nord, Arnprior.
