BURNIE, Kenneth "Ken"
Peacefully at home while surrounded by the love of family and friends on Monday afternoon, November 17, 2014. Kenneth Douglas "Ken" Burnie of Braeside passed away at the age of 67 years. Dear son of the late Bill Burnie and the late Betty Burnie (nee Cowley). Beloved husband and best friend of Cheryl (nee Cotnam). Dearly loved father of Scott Burnie (Stacey) of Braeside and Greig Burnie (Cari-Ann) of Kanata and stepfather of Robbie Richardson of Braeside and Richelle West (Josh) of Ottawa. Proud "Gramps" of Kiefer Burnie. Predeceased by his first wife, Geraldine "Geri" (nee Desjardins). Loved brother of Joan Adamcsak (late Al) of Sidney, B.C. and Jackie Burnie (Jeanine) of Burlington. Special son-in-law of Erma Cotnam of Arnprior and brother-in-law of Angie Snedden (Rick) of Carleton Place. Dear uncle of Alan, Andrew and Adrian McColl, Theresa MacPherson and Ashley Mitchell. Ken will be lovingly remembered for his warm and welcoming personality; his quick wit and his ability to make people feel good. The sparkle in his eyes will never be forgotten. Ken's family will receive friends at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning from 9:15 until 10:15 a.m. A Service to honour and celebrate Ken's life will be conducted in Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, Arnprior on Saturday morning, November 22nd at 11 o'clock. Pastor Clark Young and Rev. Dr. Leo Hughes co-officiating. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. In memory of Ken, a donation to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada would be appreciated by his family.
