Hi Mary and Bob, so very saddened to hear of the passing of your mom Mary. Its very hard to convey how we feel but let me quote a passage from the poem "God's Garden" that says what is felt, "God looked around his garden and he found an empty place, he then looked down to earth and saw your tired face, he put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best". Sorry we missed seeing you at this time but our thoughts were with you both.

I have so many fond memories of Aunt Arvella. She always lived her life with such love and grace.
My brothers and I spent many happy times at Arvella and Jack's home on Ida Street in Arnprior, during our summer stays with our grandmother. Our father was in the military so every three years, between moves, we would have a wonderful long visit with all our relatives. Even though Arvella and Jack had a full house with 7 children, they were always happy to see us and make us feel welcome. With those warm smiles one always felt special.
Aunt Arvella was always such a wonderful friend to my mother, especially in their later years, when they were both widowed. We will never forget the many thoughtful things she and the family did for mom in her long fight with cancer.
I took her advice to me when she said after the birth of my first child, Heather, "Enjoy the time with your children, it goes fast! She was right! After a recent visit with Aunt Arvella she told me, "It goes fast", meaning life is short so appreciate every day. How thoughtful she was to take the time to share this, even while quite ill. Walking us to the door that day to say our last goodbyes, must have been a great effort for her but that was Arvella, always thinking of others before herself!
She lived her life like a saint, and I know she is in heaven watching down on us now. She had a strong faith and it saw her through so many of life's joys and trials. I hope we can follow her advice and appreciate every day, as life is precious and short, but we will all be together again in Heaven.

To my seven brother and sisters!! There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, things we don't want to know but have to learn, and people we can't live without, but have to let go. Some of my earliest memories are of Alicia St., Ida St., the Taylor's and the Whyte's. Sitting in the family room at 10 Ida St., watching television, and the girls (including me) taking turns brushing your Mom's hair! She LOVED to have her hair brushed!!!! These memories are embedded in my mind forever and always bring me back to happy, carefree times. I will forever hold the highest respect and love for the truly beautiful woman your mother was. I will miss her dearly, as I will miss all of you. I so wish I could be with you on Thursday, but know that while not there in person, I will very much be with you all in spirit. Much love, Tracy
