Obituary of Hazel Savard

SAVARD, Hazel (Nee Gourley) Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior while surrounded by loved ones on Friday morning, October 31st, 2008. Hazel Savard of Arnprior in her 83rd year. Beloved wife for over 55 years of the late Nick Savard (January 26, 1999). Loved mother and best friend of Carol Gilmette (John) of Arnprior, Sharron O'Neill (John) of Kinburn and Kathy McMahon (Lorne) of Braeside. Cherished and proud "Nanny" of Jacqueline, Travis, Matthew, Ryan and Erin and "Great-Nanny" of Keira, Layni and Pierce. Dear sister of Jessie Miller (late Duke), Lorna Handy (John), Walter Gourley (Loretta), Gracie L'Abbé (Raymond), Pat Gourley (Cathy) and Diane Thomson (late Andy). Predeceased by 2 brothers: Kenny (Thelma) and Edgar (late Eileen) and one sister: Helen Valade (late Lucien). Special aunt of Mark L'Abbé. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 9:30 a.m. Monday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside on Monday morning, November 3rd at 11 o'clock. Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses at the Arnprior Hospital, Dr. J. Kiskis, Fr. Ryan, Fr. Ruddick, Fr. Chaput and Fr. Beachey for the comfort they provided Hazel. In remembrance, a donation made to the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital "Partners in Caring" campaign would be appreciated by her family. Members of the CWL, Braeside will assemble at the funeral home for prayers on Sunday evening at 6:45 p.m.
