DESARMIA, Bruce
(Retired Arnprior Volunteer Firefighter after 33 years)
In hospital at Ottawa while surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday morning, January 13th, 2009. Bruce Patrick Desarmia, a lifelong resident of Arnprior at the age of 66 years. Son of the late Thomas and Emma Desarmia. Beloved husband of Eunice (Nee Michelson). Dearly loved father of Richard "Rick" (and his wife Colleen) and Wesley "Wes" (and his wife Lesa), all of Arnprior. Proud "Poppa" of Bryana, Amanda and Kira. Dear brother of Joan Schultz (late Jack) of Arnprior and Beverley Fishenden (Clarence) of Pakenham. Predeceased by brothers Donald, Martin and Robert. Special brother-in-law of June Desarmia of Kingston; Marjorie Desarmia of Carleton Place and Clarice Desarmia of Arnprior. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Bruce was a faithful third degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2082, Arnprior and dedicated 4th degree member of Canadian Martyrs Assembly 1597, Renfrew. He served many positions with the Knights and most recently held the title of Faithful Navigator of the 4th degree. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 10:30 Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Friday, January 16th at 12 o'clock noon. Interment Albert Street Cemetery, Arnprior. In memory of Bruce, a donation made to the Arnprior Hospital "Partners in Caring" campaign would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Knights of Columbus will assemble at the funeral home for prayers on Thursday evening at 6:30.
