Obituary of John Pumphrey

PUMPHREY, John Peacefully in hospital at Ottawa on Sunday morning, July 5th, 2009. John Bernard Pumphrey of Kanata at the age of 73 years. Dear son of the late Louis Pumphrey and the late Mabel Madill. Beloved husband and best friend of Joan (nee Gray). Dearly loved father of Don (Nancy) of Whitehorse, Yukon, Shelley Dowling (Rob) of Stittsville and Laurie Reesor (Dave) of Perth. Treasured grandfather of Jessica and Sean, Allie and Jamie, Zachary, Justin and Aidan and "Special Grandfather" to Tyler and Megan. Predeceased by his only sister Beverley Bull (Gord of Whitehorse, Yukon). Friends may join us for visitation at the Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated in the Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday morning, July 8th at 11 o'clock. Cremation will follow. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Special Olympics would be appreciated by John's family.
