Dear Debbie and Family, I met Mark when I first started at First Air in 1981. We did a number of "tours" in those vacation areas of the Arctic like Resolute Bay in March. Working outside at -35 was always a challenge and so we endeavoured to make it fun as well. We always worked well together and my memories of him are always with a smile or laugh even when things were not laughable. I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing and can only imagine how you all feel. I have to go on remembering al of the "good times" and in doing that Mark will be with us forever. Sincerely, Dan Haughton Transport Canada

Debbie your family's love is strong and will it help you through this tragic time. My thoughts are with you and your family. I look at the picture of Mark and I can only smile. He had a heart bigger than life and loved to live. I regret not seeing him in recent years. Another thing that makes me smile, when I look at Mark, is a story about a Fire Hose, Fishing Rods and USAF Generals. I know it will be retold tomorrow along with many other fond memories when we get together to celebrate the thoughtful man with the infectious smile. Mark will live on in all our Hearts and be missed by many. Howard.

To Debbie and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I worked for and with Mark at Bradley First Air and later on we had a professional relationship in industry. I will always remember him not only for the larger than life character that he was, but also as a man of integrity and intelligence. I am sure his legacy will be long lasting, as he left his stamp on many young apprentices and aircraft maintenance engineers. You are all in our thoughts and prayers

Dear Debbie, children & family, I could not believe I was reading this, Debbie. Not Mark, happy, wonderful Mark. I am sure you are still hoping you will wake up from a bad dream. Debbie and family, may God comfort and strengthen you through this time of pain. May the wonderful, beautiful memories you have of your life together - up North, everywhere - help you to come thru to the other side. If you can read the poem by Henry Van Dyke Gone From My Sight - it may help you. Mark will never be far away, he lives in your heart and in the beauty of your children. I can't tell you how sorry we are for your loss and we will keep you all in our prayers. Love Freddie & Jon

To Mark's family and friends; My sincerest condolences on your loss. I occupied only a small corner of Mark's life, however he left a big impression in mine. One didn't have to know him long to understand that here was a man of integrity, honesty and decency. A straight shooter. One of the good guys. He will be missed.

I met Mark and his family through ski racing as both Laura and Lizzy raced with Thomas not far behind. Mark was a consummate volunteer who gave many personal hours of his own time for the benefit of all the kids in the race club and took on several leadership positions to help to make it what it is today. I will remember Mark as a generous and unique person who had a great relationship with his family. Sincerely, The Levesque's

My deepest condolences to Debbie and the rest of the family. I met Mark when I started with First Air back in the late 1980s and will always remember him as Mark the "Animal" Elliot, my boss, my mentor and my friend. He took me as a young inexperienced aircraft maintenance engineer and passed on his knowledge, wisdom and expertise; transforming me into a well rounded and experienced engineer. He helped make what I am today. I will always be grateful for what he has given me and cherish his memory fondly. Sincerly Peter "Spike" Rowntree Senior Regional Investigator Transportation Safety Board of Canada
