Obituary of Annette Gagnon

GAGNON, Annette Peacefully in hospital on Saturday, December 19th, 2009 at the age of 95. Beloved wife of the late Jacques Gagnon. Loving mother of Elaine Laperrière (Jacques), Denise Jensen (Doug) and Jean (Jeannine Schaefer). Much loved grandmother of Daniel, Michèle, Martin, Chantal, Josée, Nicole, Laurie, Sonya, Scott and Kevin, and great-grandmother of Vincent, Maxime, Ellie, Arik, Christopher, Jenna, Taylor, Avery, Émilie and Catherine. Predeceased by her parents Stanislas Chartrand and Alexina Carrière, three sisters, Adrienne (Hector LeBlanc), Noella (Paul Ménard), Eméla (Robert Bélanger), and two brothers, Lucien (Béatrice Proulx) and Raoul (Esther Storevold). Long-time resident of Vanier and member of the Club 60, Centre Pauline-Charron, and more recently a resident at the Manoir Belcourt in Orléans.Family and friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. A service in celebration of Annette's life will follow in the chapel on Wednesday morning, December 23rd at 10 o'clock. Cremation will follow with interment at Notre-Dame Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Elle était la fière grand-maman de Daniel, Michèle, Martin, Laurie, Sonya, Scott, Kevin, Chantal, Josée et Nicole, et arrière-grand-maman de Vincent, Maxime, Ellie, Arik, Christopher, Jenna, Taylor, Avery, Émilie et Catherine. Annette était la fille de Stanislas Chartrand et Alexina Carrière, et la sœur d'Adrienne (Hector LeBlanc), Noella (Paul Ménard), Eméla (Robert Bélanger), Lucien (Béatrice Proulx) et Raoul (Esther Storevold), tous défunts. Annette fut résidante de longue date à Vanier, où elle était membre du Club 60 au Centre Pauline-Charron. Elle vécut ses dernières années au Manoir Belcourt à Orléans. La famille recevra parents et amis à la Chapelle St. Laurent, 1200 chemin Ogilvie à Ottawa le mardi 22 décembre de 14h00 à 16h00 et en soirée de 19h00 à 21h00, ainsi que le mercredi 23 décembre à partir de 9h00, suivi d'une Célébration de la Parole à 10h00 à la chapelle. L'inhumation des cendres aura lieu au cimetière Notre-Dame au printemps 2010. Ceux qui le désirent peuvent offrir un don à la Société du Cancer ou la Fondation du Coeur.
