Obituary of John Carey

CAREY, John (Owner - John Carey and Associates Inc. The Co-operators Insurance, Arnprior) (Past-President Arnprior Chamber of Commerce) Peacefully at home, Glasgow Station while surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday evening, January 13th, 2010. John Edward Carey of Arnprior at the age of 67 years. Dear son of the late John Edward Sr. and Theresa (Nee Glen) Carey. Beloved husband, partner and best friend for 25 years of Joan (Nee Osmond). Adored and devoted father of Andrew Carey of Glasgow Station and Theresa Carey-Stekelenburg (Andrew) of Arnprior. Predeceased by an infant son, Paul Andrew. Dear brother of Glen Carey (Valerie) of Stoney Creek; Michael Carey and Sharon Carey, both of Hamilton. Proud "Papa" of Jacob and Trenton. Also survived by a niece, Lisa Urban (Greg) as well as 2 nephews, Scott Carey (Maki) and Brent Carey (Sarrah). Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Candlelight Service in celebration of John's life will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. Then to rest at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home, 1774 King Street East, Hamilton on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Luke's Church, Hamilton on Tuesday morning, January 19th at 10 o'clock. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Angels Cemetery, Stoney Creek. Parish prayers will take place at the Markey-Dermody Funeral Home on Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. For those wishing, donations made to the Arnprior Hospital "Partners in Caring" campaign would be appreciated by John's family.
