(Veteran of D-Day Normandy Invasion)

Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior on Thursday evening, June 9th, 2005. Ian James Ramsay MacFarlane of Pakenham at the age of 82 years. Dear son of the late Albert and Helen MacFarlane. Beloved husband of Corinne (Nee Gallant). Loved father of Patricia Thomas (Joseph), Peter MacFarlane (Karen), Bonnie MacFarlane and Andrea Grieve (Robert). Special grandfather of Geoffrey, Shelley, Ian and Kerri and great-grandfather of Brett. Predeceased by 2 brothers: David and Douglas. Ian was a veteran of the North Shore New Brunswick (NB) Regiment (1941-1946). He landed with the first wave of infantry on D-Day and served with the regiment through to the liberation of Holland. He was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada for over 40 years and managed the Pakenham branch from 1959 until his retirement in 1982. The family would like to thank the people of Pakenham who have given Ian their friendship and support over the years. Special thanks to Colleen Molson and Dr. John Kiskis.

Friends are invited to join us for a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in St. Peter Celestine Church, Pakenham on Monday morning, June 13th at 11 o�clock. A reception will follow at the family home. Following cremation, private interment in the family plot at Indian Hill Cemetery will take place at a later date. In memory of Ian, a donation made to the St. Peter Celestine Church Restoration Fund or the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital would be appreciated by his family.
