Dear Barb, Loretta, and all the members of the extended Skillen Family: We were saddened to hear of Doris's death and I would like to offer our sincerest condolences on behalf of the McSheffrey Family. Aunt Doris was a remarkable lady and our lives were enriched by having had Doris and her husband, Jim, as part of them. As children, we always eagerly looked forward to their frequent visits to our family farm at Venosta and those fewer occasions when we visited them in Ottawa. Doris always had treats and presents for us children and her cheerful good humour was both contagious and uplifting. As well, I remember those occasions when our mother was ill and required hospital care in Ottawa how generous Doris was in offering accommodation and assistance to our family. I rest assured that even Heaven is a better place now that Doris has come to join Jim there.
