Obituary of Carl Pickles

PICKLES, Carl (RN Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre) Suddenly and unexpectedly at home with his loving wife by his side on Friday, May 13th, 2011. Carl Frederick Pickles of Britania Village (Ottawa) at the age of 49 years. Dear son of the late Frank and Renate Pickles. Beloved husband and best friend of Margaret (nee Watling). Dearly loved, devoted and proud father of Anna and Chris, both at home. Loved brother of Bobby Pickles of Sherbrooke.Dear son-in-law of Marilyn (nee Austin) Watling (late Malcolm) of Ottawa. Very special friend of Paulette and Robert McKay of Ottawa as well as many others. Carl will be lovingly remembered for his many years of dedication and service to the patients of the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa Carl also took great pride in his volunteerism, particularly with the Navy League Cadets in Ottawa. Family and friends are invited to the Perley Rideau Veterans' Health Centre, 1750 Russell Road, Ottawa for visitation on Tuesday, May 24th from 2 p.m. until 6:45p.m. and and where a Service to celebrate Carl's life will follow at 7 p.m. Private interment Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa. In memory of Carl, a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by his family.
