to Harry and the family a dream of a man was Harry and we all knew that: a popular, fun loving soul the funny expressions and fond memories were his smiles reached out like that final hockey goal... and he reminds me of my own son's final words to us all...'be here now' as he lived like that 'one at a time' daily existence as we witnessed ourselves: he'd say 'it will all turn out folks just fine"..... much loved from Norma Dixon, at the Villa, and he's in my heart too.

My mother, Beryl Powell, Harry's sister-in-law, and I were blessed to be given the opportunity to drive Uncle Harry to Oakville for his brother Edward's funeral.
Although we were saddened to be visiting for my dear Uncle's funeral, Harry knowing that we were a little sad, decided to cheer us up by telling us many jokes all the way to Oakville.
It was a memorable drive, I only wish I could remember all those funny stories! He had such a great memory and delivery!

Dear Philip, Saw Happy Harry's obit in this morning's paper. So sorry to hear of your loss. I well remember you speaking so fondly of him, 'Marj', Chris and your grandmother Costello. Greg, PK and I used to chuckle about all the stories from 'up the Valley', to say nothing of your then precocious chairmanship of the Arnprior Historical Society. But we always knew how much your family, friends and Arnprior, your centre, meant to you. At this sad time of loss I trust your many friendships and fond memories will afford you some comfort. I never had the pleasure of meeting your father, but I feel confident that had our paths crossed I would have enjoyed his company enormously. I am sad to hear that Harry has passed such a funny, optimistic person who always shared a joke and who never let any adversity pull him down. To Chris, Brian, Kate, Neil, Phil, Diane, Beth, Drew we send our sympathies. To Arvella and the Taylor family, I am sorry for your loss too. I am sure Harry is convening with my father, Hank picking the best rocks for future stonework. They shared the same work ethic and loved a project. I met Harry about three years ago, when I started at the Arnprior Villa as a server. I instantly took a shining to Harry as he was always happy and we brought a smile to one another's faces. I told him that if I were a resident, his was the table I would want to sit at. One time he thanked my husband for letting me come to the Villa as a server to help look after his needs. He was a pleasure to speak with, loved life and I will always remember him sitting outside in the nice weather to greet me or send me off at the end of my shift. It was a sad day when he moved out of the Villa and now that he is gone forever it's an even sadder day. Rest in peace.
