Passed away peacefully at the Renfrew Victoria Hospital on Thursday, July 17, 2014; Wanda Beverley (McEwen) Shaw, formerly of Brockville, at the age of 76 years. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Donald Shaw. Wanda was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ethel McEwen of Clay Bank; by her brothers; Mel, Willis, Bernard, James "Jim" and Wellington and her sisters; Roxy Baker, Greta Stewart, Waveney Campbell and Lois Marshall. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Morna McEwen (the late Mel), Marjorie McEwen (the late James "Jim" McEwen), Pat Shaw (the late Bev), Beverley Shaw (the late Doug Shaw) and Sandi Fahie (Terry) as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda was a graduate of the Grace Hospital and a retired Public Health Nurse with the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Health Unit. She was a proud Charter Member and Past President of the Brockville Lioness Club. The family would like to thank the caring staff of Groves Park Lodge, and the Dialysis Unit of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital for all of the care and comfort they have provided for Wanda.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, on Saturday, July 19th from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m., and then at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Sunday, July 20th from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. A ceremony celebrating Wanda's life will be held on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Pilon Family Chapel with a reception following. Interment at a later date at White Lake Community Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dialysis Unit of the Renfrew Victoria Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged.
