It was with great sadness when heard of the passing of Dave. I worked with Dave for many years at Nortel and the memory most vivid for me was his genuine warmth. When going to discuss business with Dave, he always greeted me with a smile. His calm and welcoming demeanour made me feel at home. Dave was a wonderful person. My deepest condolences. I was very sad to hear of Dave's passing. Dave was my manager for a short time at Nortel. His incredibly positive approach to life and work made my time in his group a joy, and made a huge difference in my life. I'll never forget how he helped me -- or the laughter that came from his office.

I worked with Dave at Nortel for several years, and found him to be unfailingly cheerful and optimistic. Dave always thought the best of people, and as a manager brought out the best in his staff. Dave was a very special person, and I was very saddened to hear of his passing.

I would like to offer my heart felt sympathies to the Gagne family for their loss. I had the pleasure of working with Dave back in the early Bell Northern Research days, and yes he always had a smile to offer. He was a very gentle man that was a pleasure to know and work with. I'm sure that he will be dearly missed.

I am so saddened to hear that Dave had passed away. My fondest memories as kids, were walking the railroad tracks from our Aunt's house Eugenie on many Saturdays, along with many family get-togethers of dancing and singing, and thirdly, listening to Bob Dylan tapes in the new green sports car. Where did all those years go. Pat, you guys were soul-mates and that alone is so very special. Not many people will ever get to experience that feeling. My very deepest sympathy to you, your children and Suzanne.

David had a heart of gold - he truly was one of the nicest people I have had the pleasure to work with. He was one of my first mentors at BNR and he always had time for the most inane questions from the newbies. Condolences to his entire family - he will be missed by many.

May GOD bless and keep the entire family in HIS everlasting protection and care at this moment of the loss of my BEST FRIEND DAVE. I pray that the strength of our LORD JESUS CHRIST continues to pour over PAT, Christopher and Jeffrey at this moment and forever more. MY FRIEND was and still is the best anyone can ask for. He was the perfect person in an imperfect world. He cared for all those who were not so fortunate. My DAVE was everything that I could never be. He was and will always be my BEST FRIEND. DAVE, I WILL LIVE WITH YOU IN MY HEART FOREVER AND ONE DAY SOON I HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN. Mike.

To Pat and Family: We give our heart-felt sympathy for the loss of Dave. May your family find peace with time. Dave and you, Pat always had a smile and shared a laugh each time we met. Our sincerest condolences, Bob and Celestine I would like to share this poem my late mother, who also passed away from cancer, left for me. A Thousand Winds Do not stand by my grave and weep, for I am not there, I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond’s glint on snow. I am sunlight on ripened grain, I am the gentle Autumn’s rain. When you awaken in the morning’s hush, I am the swift uplifting rush. Of quiet birds in circle flight, I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry, I am not there, I did not die.
