To Darlyne and the Shean Family, On behalf of myself and my team at Scotiabank in Kanata I would like to offer my heartfelt condolences. Len was a 'large' man in many ways and most of that was heart. He was forever bringing in treats to my team and will be fondly remembered for the 'eggroll drops' and bottles BNS wine he made to our extended hours. I was a proud and willing sponsor any of the many charities he represented. Our thoughts and prayers are with you today John L. Farrell Manager Scotiabank 482 Hazeldean Rd Kanata

To Darlyne, Joe, Sandy, Colleen, Rick, Jonathan, Adam, Bryanna, Amanda and extended families..... I am so sad to hear of the loss of Len. He was one of those people who could always make you feel special. I have a very fond memory of Len. In the summer of 1981, I was a new bride and had just moved to Arnprior from the metropolis of Carp. After an August wedding, I was gradually starting to meet people in my new hometown. In November, just a day before my 21st birthday, I received a call in the middle of the night that my mother had died suddenly. This was a difficult time. With Christmas fast approaching, as a family we struggled to figure out how to get through our first Christmas without our mom. What better way, I thought, than to get out on a sunny December afternoon and watch the Santa Claus parade. I was amazed at how many floats there were and the spirit of Arnprior was overwhelming to me. As I watched the parade, I was flooded with childhood memories. And then came the special part......"Here comes Santa". As the jolly old guy passed me by, he leaned over waving his big white glove and shouted...."hello Charlotte....Merry Christmas to you!". The special part of this story is that I didn't even know who he was? It made me feel like he was "the real one".....how else would he know my name? He made me feel special at a time when I really needed some childhood fun and a reason to believe. Wayne Rostad said it right....." If a little tenderness brings a lot of happiness...then I believe in Santa Claus". Of course, Len was many other things to many other people. His hard work and kindness spread through his position as Mayor, his participation in the Knights of Columbus and St. John Chrysostom and all the qualities of an extraordianary citizen in general. Thanks to all of you for sharing Len with us. I will remember you all in my prayers. Sincerely, Charlotte

Our Condolences and prayers to your Family. Len was a special person who was always a friend and wanting to help people when the need was there. He was one of the first people that I had the honour and pleasure to meet when I moved here. He made people feel welcome and part of the community. He will be missed, I know that our Father in Heaven will be there to welcome a man who's heart was bigger then him. Thanks Len (Santa) for sharing your life with all who were blessed to know you.
