SHEAN, Len (Former Councillor Town of Arnprior 1986 - 1997) (Former Mayor Town of Arnprior 1997 - 2003) (Third Degree Member KofC, Council 2082, Arnprior) (Fourth Degree Member KofC, Canadian Martyrs Assembly 1597) (Arnprior Legion, Branch 174) (Estimator - CDS Building Movers) Peacefully in hospital at Arnprior while surrounded by the love of his family on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2008. Leonard Michael "Len" Shean of Arnprior at the age of 67 years. Dear son of the late Joseph Shean and the late Christina Dool. Beloved husband of Darlyne (Nee Robinson). Dearly loved father, friend and mentor of Joe (Sandy) of R.R.# 3, Arnprior and Colleen Desarmia (Rick) of R.R.# 2, Arnprior. Cherished and proud "Grampa" of Jonathan and Adam Shean; Bryanna and Amanda Desarmia. Loved brother of Don Shean (Bonnie) of Renfrew, Mary Wismer (late Ken) of Smiths Falls, Agnes Barker (late Bob) of Almonte and Reta Behm (Gary) of Haley Station. Predeceased by 2 brothers: Frank and Bernard "Bun" Shean as well as one sister, Margaret Hutt (late Norman). Brother-in-law of Janet Shean of Cobden. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Len will be remembered for his vibrant personality, his love of life and his neverending commitment to helping others. A true Santa has gone home for Christmas. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home & Chapel, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday, December 29th from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Tuesday, December 30th at 12 o'clock noon. Spring interment St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Osceola. In memory of Len, a donation made to the Arnprior Hospital "Palliative Care Unit" or the Arnprior Legion, Branch 174 would be appreciated by his family. Members of The Legion Branch 174 Arnprior will assemble at the funeral home for a tribute service on Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. Members of the Knights of Columbus will assemble at the funeral home for prayers on Monday evening at 6 o'clock.
