My sympathies to family and friends of Father Bill. I have fond memories of Father Bill. As a little girl, I was one of his alter servers at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish. He was always such a kind, humble, peaceful, lovable and wonderful man. He always had a smile. He would always flash us a nice thank you smile when we brought him the gifts or cleansed his hands with holy water. I became attached to him... serving mass without him wasn't the same. Every time I go to mass and see the new little alter servers I think of him and my time as an alter server. I also remember our Church picnics... Father Bill loved music. He sang and played his guitar and harmonica with the band! Father Bill will always be remembered. Rest in peace. xo

Hearing of your loss, and of our loss, brings sorrow and in these difficult moments, we would like to extend our personal expression of deepest sympathy. Please remember, that even if perfect words are difficult to find you are remembered in our prayers for you and your loved ones as we continue during these trying times. Rather than mourn the absence of the flame let us celebrate how brightly it burned! Father Bill, you have always been a great person to work with and we enjoyed the many years we celebrated with you at St. Michael's in Fitzroy. A Mass will be offered in our parish of St. John the Apostle for the repose of your soul. Father Bill, may you rest in peace knowing that you are loved and have been a very special person in our lives.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Father Bill. Father Bill was such a dear friend. His presence will be greatly missed in our community. Enjoyed his visits at our Seniors Music Club where he would enjoy the camaraderie of other musicians and play and sing to entertain us all. So sorry not to be able to attend the wake or funeral but do know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Bonnie Mackie, President, East Osgoode & District Old Time Music and Dancing Association Inc.

Our sincere condolences to Father Bill's family and friends. Father Bill was a very dear friend. At many of our Christmas banquets, Father Bill embraced our head table and following dinner, he was only too happy to join friend musicians on stage and "jam" away for an hour or so. He will be fondly remembered. We miss him already. We are unable to attend the wake or funeral but do know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Harvey Monahan, Past President,East Osgoode & District Old Time Music and Dancing Association Inc.

Father Bill will certainly be remembered far and wide, one look at his smile would say it all...when my Polish and Ukranian members of my extended family come up many times they go to Fitzroy's most welcome church here. As five family members are all teaching at Roman Catholic Schools one can always see the respect in family and church teachings that hopefully will be embraced by them all, as it was in your own Lunney family. I spoke at my own Doug Dixon's funeral last year and his memorial stone could be repeated for 'Father Bill"....he celebrated life with dignity and respect'......you're all in my thouhts, Mrs. Norma Dixon

To the Lunney Family and Friends. We were sad tio hear that Fr. Bill has died, we know however that it is a blessing for him. Fr. Bill was a wonderful priest and friend to many. He ministered to so many people in his kind, gentle spirit. He had a great sense of humour and a wonderful gift of music which he so freely shared at any given gathering. We had to opportunity to spend some time with him around his birthday. We had a great visit and we got some photos of him that day. He was very proud to show us some photos he had in his room of his Ordination and the day of his first Mass. We will all miss him, but can you just imagine the great assembly of family and loved ones that will be there to greet him. He was a friend and mentor to our whole family, we will lovingly remember him. We are out of town and unable to attend the wake or funeral, but you will be remember in our thoughts and prayers. Mike and Roseanne Carroll
