Obituary of William Lunney

LUNNEY, Rev. William Francis "Father Bill" October 8, 1928 - December 8, 2009 Peacefully in hospital, Arnprior on Tuesday morning, December 8th, 2009. Beloved son of the late James Lunney and the late Mary Ryan. Dear brother of Clare McInnes (late Jack), Hugh (Mary), Al (Marlyn), Msgr. Len, Bernadette and Larry (Francine). Predeceased by his sister, Rita Nugent (late John) and his brothers, Ed (Bev) and Jim (Doris). Ordained in 1968, Father Bill served in a number of parishes in the Archdiocese of Ottawa including St. Patrick's Basilica; St. Michael's, Fitzroy Harbour; St. Gabriel's, Constance Bay and Our Lady of the Visitation, South Gloucester. Friends may pay their final respects at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Solemn Translation to St. Peter Celestine Church, Pakenham will occur on Friday morning at 9 o'clock where Father Bill will lie in state until the time of his Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow at the St. Peter Celestine Parish Cemetery, Indian Hill.
