To the Baker Family: The Bakers were wonderful next door neighbours to my parents Dougall & Mary Burton. As a child Joan & I were best friends & after childish spats Mrs. Baker would call Joan home & she would receive a spanking & my mother would call me home & I would get a dose of castoria medicine! The next day we would play together again as if nothing ever happened. When Mrs.Baker went into Almonte Country Haven, my daughter Donna & myself used to visit & sometimes accompany her to the chapel services. Mrs. Baker always knew I was Gracie & I was Mary's daughter. She would say "your Mom always made good apple pies!" I have only fond memories of the best neighbours anyone could have. My thoughts, love & prayers are with you all. Rev.Grace E.(Burton) Vaters

We are feeling the loss of Aunt Jean today. Even though we haven't seen her for awhile our memory of those "happy days and long nights" that we all spent together will always be fresh and wonderful. Our deepest sympathy to all of you. Love the McCue's.

Dear Joan, Bill, Margaret & families. The world is a better place because of your beautiful Mom. She brought light, laughter, fun and much love where ever she went. Keep your memories alive, keep that love in your hearts, it was and always will be something so very special. I know how much you will miss her, this wonderful mother and lady, but know that she will never be farther away than your hearts. God has received a beautiful angel. Thinking of you all, you are in our hearts and prayers. Love and blessings always, Frederica & Jon (Webb)

Dear Joan, Bill, Margaret and families. I'm thinking of you all with much love and sympathy at this difficult time. Your mother was an incredible lady. I have the best memories of family times shared with her and your Dad..but, your Mom was the one who made everything fun! She was the Aunt who made me feel special, and I've always cherished the memory of those visits. May your treasured memories of Aunt Jean, help to ease the pain of losing her. Your cousin, Elizabeth

To you all - ... try not to be too sad. The Gilmour Trio - Jean, Isobel and Ken (Daddy to me!) - certainly were a hard act to follow!! They filled the lives of everyone who knew them with such fun and love and they all lived full and rich lives. I remember my visit to Canada with great fondness - we did laugh a lot, didn't we? And that is what I shall remember the most - the mischief, fun, laughter and love in Jean's house! She loved having her family around her and was so proud of you all. Try to hold onto your special memories, keep talking about her because she is - and always will be - with each and everyone of you. With love from Sue

Dear Joan, Marg, Billy and all of you, My love and hugs to you at this sad time. The Jean I knew was a wonderfully loving, mischievious, caring person. She welcomed me into her home on my first trip to meet you all with Dad and we had such fun together each time I saw her on my visits. She took me on many trips down memory lane, telling me wonderful stories of Dad and Granny and Grampa. She and Isabel used to talk about them all as youngsters til my head would be in a spin!!! I know she loved you all so very much - it was so easy to see her love for all of you - and how proud she was of you all too. I am so happy to have known her. My love to you all. Jane
