We were much saddened to read in the Sunday Citizen of Vince's passing. Our heartfelt condolences to Gwen and the family. With many memories of Vince during his National Research Council days in Ottawa, his zest for life, his great sense of humour (how he used to entertain all of us during coffee breaks with his hilarious jokes and stories) and his camaraderie with his many NRC associates. Sadly, ill-health is preventing our attending Vince's funeral on Monday but our thoughts will very much be there with you. Bill and Liz Hayes, Ottawa

With my condolences to Gwen and the family: Vince was an enthusiastic and extremely competent member of our research team in the Division of Mechanical Engineering at the NRC. On our frequent excursions to copper smelters to test new measuring devices developed at the NRC and to install complete sets of devices to gather data from the smelting process units, Vince always impressed the most experienced workers and managers with his ingenuity and his determination to get the job done and done right. His friendly and exuberant personality made him a special team member and one whom I shall always remember as I reminisce about my years at the NRC. With my sincerest sympathies, Leo Nenonen
