EVANS, Vince (Leading Seaman - Royal Navy) (Proud Veteran - WWII) (Member White Ensign, Almonte) (Member RCL Branch 174, Arnprior) Peacefully in hospital, Arnprior with loved ones by his side and in his heart on Friday evening, April 16th, 2010. Edward Vincent Evans of Arnprior at the age of 86 years. Beloved husband for over 53 years of Gwen (Nee Wamsley). Dearly loved father of Sue Galipeau (Graham) of Qualicum Beach, B.C; Bev Evans-Cowie (Ian) of St. Albert, Alberta and Karen Evans-Hepburn (Laine Hepburn) of Parksville, B.C. Cherished and proud "Grandpa" of Gregory, Shelley, Jason, Lyndsay, Ian and Cali and "Great-Grandpa" of Levi. Also survived by other family members in the U.K. and Spain. Predeceased by his brother, Ronald Evans (Heather of Birmingham, England) and his sister, Margaret "Madge" Newmann. Friends may join us for visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home, 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Monday from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. and again from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A candlelight service to celebrate the life of Vince Evans will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Monday evening at 8 o'clock. Cremation will follow. For those wishing, a donation made to the Arnprior Hospital "Partners in Caring" campaign or the Arnprior Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 174, Arnprior will assemble at the funeral home for a tribute service to be held on Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.
