A well known and talented lady has left the scene. A few years ago we were all amongst the Arnprior League of artists, formed about l981. My good friend Debbie Laventure and many others like Kevin Dodds, Stan Tourangeau, Marg Lamandeau amongst the bunch of us at monthly meetings here in Arnprior. \
...My daughter Suzie who comes up weekly from Orleans, couple of seasons back (here in Villa) went to Marion's room as I excitedly wanted to buy two of her beautiful smocked dresses....I had just become a great granddaughter category and Suzie picked out suitable mauve or what colours they loved...(Marion and I discussed this smocking technique as I did four for my daughter when she was 4 and 5 etc. I had learned this in Trenton rcaf teacher...I myself loved this too, then taking my 4 yrs.art courses in Ottawa, ending always with life drawing, models posing, one of a kind.
Commissioned work I am still doing at age 89 now....Marion was another lady reaching out to others, smiling when she passed them by and I would say that 'one of a kind' title could be hers.
..Pleasant personality for sure, now amongst the Heavenly Angels with her infectious smile. I'll be making a memory donation to her to the
Seniors at Home Programme. sincerely, Norma Dixon, (room, 129 Villa Revera).
