My deepest condolences to Sandra and family. My father, Ted, became friends with Paul at the Arnprior food bank many years ago. To my family, he was the donut man and my Dad was the potato man. Paul married myself and my husband and years later gave my father peace at the Arnprior hospital and hence his eulogy at his funeral. My memories of Paul are of a kind hearted, patient man. The world will miss his kindly nature, I am glad to have known him.

The memories go back to 1948, and now all of them have been covered in gold. Paul was that most precious of possessions, a true friend. The image I see of him now is a smiling one, and in the past it often came under unlikely circumstances. When we disagreed on anything I would marshal my best arguments and, when they were spent, I would often resort to throwing a scripture quotation at him, “Paul, thy great learning hath driven thee mad!”. More often than not, I was rewarded with his wonderful smile.
Ave atque vale, dear friend.

Saundra,
Please accept our most sincere sympathy extended to you and your daughters in the loss of Paul. We just learned of his passing this hour. It sounds like he continued his generous contributions to others through his efforts at the food bank. His leadership in the cause of social justice was remarkable.
How blessed you three are to have Sheila and Peter and families to support you at this time !
You are in our prayers.

Saundra, Mary Teresa (MT) & Caroline!
I was sad to hear of your loss - a loving husband and Dad. In the photo you have posted with his obituary, certainly Paul''s character and light still shone through his years. I can't believe he was 87. Where does time go!
We had a lot of good times in the PD department at OECTA and always enjoyed our conversations. The Glynn, Ruetz and McAuliffe PD team was a good one! Of course, those infamous PD conferences (CCDC) at the Constellation Hotel. Always enjoyed working at those conferences. How else would I have learned how to set up Mass and I'm not even Catholic!
He was a wonderful man during my 9 years at OECTA and he always spoke so fondly of you.
Take care and enjoy all those "special" memories of your husband and Dad!

Saundra, I am so sad to learn of Paul's passing. Paul interviewed me in Toronto, for my position at St. Joe's in Ottawa in1971 and I was privileged to work with you both. I have followed your careers over the years and applaud the work you both did for Catholic education.
Brian and I send our condolences to you and your family.

My heart goes out to Saundra and family on hearing the news.
Most of my memories are from highschool days when Saundra (Miss McKay then) and Paul (Father Glynn then) were teachers. They were outstanding teachers and shaped lives (including my own) in ways that went way beyond the academic program. My love of literature, language and theater were sparked during that period. Paul was able to teach french so well that I retain some ability today despite years of little or no practice. The experience in the drama club was life-shaping. I know that I and many of my ffriends from that time inherited more than the wind from that time. The willingness to let Terry, Duane and me produce plays open to the public was a risk few would have taken.
So, many thanks for all you have done for me and the thousands of other students who had the privilege of being in your classes. We have strived to become better people as a consequence.
Farewell to Paul, one of the best people I have had the good fortune of knowing.

Although it has been many years since our last contact (late 60's, yikes!!) I still carry fond memories of one-day round trips Ottawa to Toronto for dress rehearsals, late night set building, sport field antics, and close relationships with two favoured teachers. Suandra, I am with you and yours in spirit. Blessings, Ron

I'm sorry to learn of Paul's death. I've known him a long time. When I was a grade school kid going to Columbus Boy's Camp in the summer, Paul was the tough (but fair) head counsellor. Later he was my Grade 12 French teacher at St. Michael's College School in Toronto. After high school, I joined the Congregation of St. Basil, and we were confreres for a few years, though not in the same house or location. Much later still, we reconnected when my wife, Mary Lou, and I became part of the Coalition of Concerned Canadian Catholics. We saw Paul at these gatherings, and got to know Saundra as well. Finally, in recent years, I have joined the Association of Former Basilians, which Paul helped to create. Paul was a fine man, a very good and highly principled person. Thoughts and prayers from Mary Lou and I to Saundra and the family. You will miss him greatly, I know, and the world will also feel the loss of him.

Mrs. Glynnee, MT and Care,
Sending you all big hugs and kisses from Mississuaga from all of the Barbo's. Mr. Glynnee will be sorely missed, as with those red pants of his. ;) Licorice always takes me back into your house on Crestdale, and I will forever remember that look he used to give me during our softball games when I pleasantly surprised him by making it safely to a bag after my "jaunt" around the bases. Know that the night sky will shine a little brighter now.

Saundra:
So sorry to hear of Paul's passing, though we understood that it was imminent. I regret that I won't be able to come to Arnprior for the viewing. You know how highly we all valued Paul's work in bringing us together, and how highly I valued your contribution to that enterprise.
As you know from our recent Emails, the likelihood of future gatherings is up for discussion, but if something does come to pass in 2018, I hope you will join us. I would certainly look forward to more interventions from "that pushy broad"!
My love to you and your daughters,
Stan

Saundra and Girls:
I was saddened to hear of the passing of my dear friend. It was my privilege to have volunteered with Paul, at the Arnprior Food Bank. He was such a compassionate and gentle soul, always looking out for the less fortunate. He and I always took the time to share stories and laughs while we worked. Heaven has gained a true treasure. I send you my heartfelt condolences in the loss of your beloved husband and Dad. May precious memories, faith and love, sustain you in this time of sorrow. RIP Padre.
