I was sad to hear of Uncle Joe's passing, but glad that he led such a long and full life. I can still remember vising Uncle Joe and Aunt Jeanne when my sister and I lived in Ottawa. It has now been many years since my wife and I moved to Texas, and but for one visit several years ago I had not seen Uncle Joe for decades. I am glad we made that visit. The passing of a parent, no matter how inevitable, is such a significant moment in anyone's life - it means we are bereft of their presence, their caring and support, and are now in the position of being the oldest (and hopefully, the wisest) generation next in line. Very sorry to hear of Mr Griffin/ your Dads passing . My Dad ( Ralph Appleyard) enjoyed his friendship & working with your husband/Dad at the Dnd (NRC) machine shop .
